Welcome to my homepage

My interest in optometry started when I had my first eye exam. I was intrigued by the tests and instruments used to check my vision and eye health. I believe regular eye exams are important in preserving good vision.

About Me

I attended UC Davis for a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. I received my Doctor of Optometry at Southern California College of Optometry. I also completed a Low Vision/Primary Care Residency at VA Palo Alto Health Care System.

My Recommendations

I recommend regular eye exams for the detection of any visual problems or eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration or cataracts. Complete eye exams should be done at least every 2 years. An eye exam is especially important for a child to check for signs of eye muscle weakness (strabismus), and/or the need for a high eyeglass prescription. Undetected eye problems can lead to permanent loss of vision in adulthood.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
