My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am an urologist. This means I treat the medical and surgical problems with the male and female urinary tract. I choose to do this because I enjoy working with men, women and children as well as the surgical opportunities this field affords.

My Practice Philosophy

My practice philosophy is "treat patients as you would treat your family." I also believe in educating patients about their disease process and how to care for themselves.

My Tenure With Kaiser Permanente

I have been a part of Kaiser Permanente since 2007. Since then, I have come to appreciate the ease of delivering care and the collegiality of not only the department of urology but the entire system as a whole. Rather than wait on the phone for a reply, it is not uncommon for me to walk to another department to ask a quick question. Nowhere else can you have such ready access to different specialists.

I choose to work for Kaiser for its team approach to medical care. Not only do I have specialists in other fields easily available for questions and referrals, but a great group of colleagues to review complex cases with as well.

On a Personal Note. . .

My husband and I are originally from the Sacramento area and are delighted to be in the area. We enjoy spending time in the Lake Tahoe area, camping and hiking. In my free time, I love to run and do some occasional sewing.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
