What is physical therapy?

Physical therapy is a health care specialty concerned with treating disorders of the musculoskeletal system and its interaction with your physical movement (which can be anything from being able to sit at work without pain through the day or running 10 miles). When you come for your visits, my goal is that you are able to return to your maximal function for your job, sport or everyday life.

About me

I became a physical therapist after working in a therapy environment where I was able to see so many people improve with treatment. I have also seen my own share of injuries when I played collegiate soccer and lacrosse. I have a strong interest in aquatic therapy and believe that the pool is a great place to spend some time to exercise, stretch and relax. I greatly enjoy being at Kasier Richmond and being able to work with such a variety of people all with different backgrounds and personalities.

What can I do from here?

In the far left bar there are many links that may be of interest to you: Webcare (for weight management and back pain), videos and information to prepare you for an upcoming surgery (also called an EMMI) and a link to physical therapy exercises and information.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
