About Me

I am originally from Russia and I am proud of my heritage. I graduated from both the State Nursing College and the State Medical School in my home city of Perm in the Ural Mountains.

I moved to the United States in 1989 with my family. After working as a Registered Nurse for several years I completed the Psychiatric/Adult Medicine Nurse Practitioner Master’s program at University of California, San Francisco in 1998. This program provides qualified nurses with an advanced preparation in diagnosing and treating medical and psychiatric conditions.

My Work at Kaiser

After working in private practice and in a Community Mental Health Clinic I joined the Psychiatry Department at Kaiser Permanente, South San Francisco in 2000. I provide diagnostic assessment and treatment with psychotropic medications to the patients of our clinic. I work collaboratively with physicians and consult with them when necessary. I enjoy working with a great team of professionals that includes physicians, nurses, psychologists, and licensed clinical social workers. I appreciate our diversity and the different talents my colleagues bring to work.

My Philosophy of Care

I believe that attaining mental health should be a collaborative effort of a patient and a mental health professional. You are an invaluable part of this team. You bring your expertise in your own unique experiences and symptoms. You know what has worked for you in the past. I as a mental health professional bring my knowledge and care. I listen, I educate you to diagnosis and treatment options available to you, and support you in getting better.

For me the most important aspect of our relationship is trust. The most rewarding experience is when patients play an active role in their treatment and make positive changes in their lives. I feel very fortunate to help patients as they grow.

Reaching me

I will be happy to answer your questions and concerns. The easiest way to reach me is through the Psychiatry Department at (650) 742-2151. You can leave me a confidential voice mail at any time, following the telephone prompts when you call the department number. Please note that I am not in the clinic on Friday. For routine medication refill requests, including "zero" refills, please call our pharmacy’s automated refill system (650) 742-2888 or the number listed on your prescription.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
