Welcome to this website, I am Kent Andrews. I am a licensed Psychologist in the Department of Occupational Health located in the Kaiser Permanente Bayhill Medical Offices in San Bruno, California.

If you are experiencing difficulties on the job that you believe are causing you psychiatric injury, or you have been referred by your Physician or another clinician for consultation because you are experiencing stress or similar problems that interfere with your ability to function satisfactorily on the job, please contact the front desk at (650) 742-7110 to set up an initial appointment. When you arrive at the Occupational Health clinic, you will be asked to complete some paperwork; your responses are very important because the information you provide will assist us in efficiently providing the most appropriate and comprehensive health care assistance.

I specialize in Occupational Health Psychology. The purpose of Occupational Health Psychology is to identify, assess and treat psychological, interpersonal and behavioral problems that may interfere with your ability to function satisfactorily on the job or that may interfere with your recovery from a work-related injury, so that you are able to return to productive, meaningful employment. Whether the problems are caused by, aggravated by, or are entirely independent of the work, the goal is both to significantly lessen, if not remove, the impact of these barriers to recovery, and to facilitate restoration of function.

Briefly, I was born in Seattle and raised in Bellevue, Washington, and attended college in Virginia, at UC Berkeley and the University of Oregon, and graduate school at San Diego State University and California School Professional Psychology in San Diego. I received my PhD in 1976, have been licensed to practice psychology since 1979, joined Kaiser Permanente in 1993. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, body surfing, and occasional painting.

The Department of Occupational Health, Kaiser Permanente South San Francisco, provides an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of occupational injury and disease, which includes medicine, physical therapy, psychology and the full array of specialty services available through South San Francisco Medical Center. The goal is to address and treat the full spectrum of difficulties that might otherwise interfere with recovery from an industrial injury.

Our goal at Kaiser Permanente is to be your health plan of choice and deliver the quality medical care our members deserve. Thank you again for choosing Kaiser Permanente.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
