My Practice Philosophy

I strive to provide timely, high-quality care in the emergency setting.

About Me

I was born and raised in Birmingham, Michigan. I attended Stanford University where I graduated with a BA in Psychology and a co-terminal MS in Biological Sciences in 1996. I received my medical and business education (MD/MBA) at Columbia University, graduating in 2001. I completed my emergency medicine residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital from 2004-2008. I spent two years (2008-2010) as an attending physician and Instructor in Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. I am board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2010.

My Interests

My medical interests include quality and patient safety, evidence-based emergency medicine, and wilderness medicine. On a personal note, I enjoy volleyball, ice hockey, and scuba diving.
