Welcome to my webpage. I'm a nephrologist specializing in hypertension and kidney disease. I primarily care for patients on dialysis, but I may also see patients with hypertension, electrolyte disorders, chronic kidney failure, or glomerulonephritis. Like many Kaiser Permanente physicians, I joined Kaiser to be able to focus on patient care and not have to worry about the business aspects of medicine. I have, in fact, had a long association with Kaiser both as a patient growing up in the Bay Area, and now, as a physician. Needless to say, my experience with Kaiser has been extremely positive.
Hopefully, you can take advantage of links on my webpage to obtain more information about kidney disease and learn how to better care for yourself. I realize that living with kidney disease can be difficult, but hopefully, learning more about your disease will help you to better cope with your illness and help relieve any anxiety related to the "mystery" behind the illness. I think that while the internet can sometimes provide misleading and even harmful information on healthcare, it can also be used to your benefit when the information is provided by reliable sources.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
