About Me

My journey to Kaiser started with an undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1990. I continued my studies at Cal (Go Bears!) and received my Master's in Genetic Counseling in 1992. My career began in Los Angeles working for the clinical side of a genetics laboratory: The Genetics Institute. After two years of prenatal counseling, I returned to the Bay Area and worked for five years at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco as a prenatal genetic counselor.

After seven years in Genetics, I followed my "seven year itch" to pursue another passion: teaching. I worked for five years in San Francisco and Sacramento as a preschool teacher of 3-5 year olds. I am now "certified" in finger-painting and playdough!

In the Fall of 2004 I reentered the Genetic Counseling field at Kaiser. I have enjoyed the challenge of working with a variety of families and genetic disorders. My special interests include the diagnosis and management of hemoglobin diseases and the genetics basis of Cancer. Outside of work, I enjoy photography, reading and playing chase with my two cats. In addition, I am an avid fan of Cal sports, the A's and the Raiders.

I look forward to meeting you and your family!
