Welcome to my home page!

I received my medical degree from the University of Southern California and completed my residency training at the UC Davis Medical Center.  My practice general internal medicine and, more specifically, I am a hospital-based specialist.  I see people in consultation through the Emergency Department and occasionally through the clinics if they are ill enough to need hospitalization.

My practice philosophy is to not only provide the best medical care but, just as importantly, to do it with as much compassion as possible because when someone becomes ill and needs hospitalization it could be a very frightening and anxious situation.  I have worked for Kaiser Permanente since finishing my residency training in 1999.  I believe the Kaiser Permanente's model of providing health care is the best in the nation.

I enjoy staying physically active through running, skiing and caring for my twin boys.  Balancing a career with family has been the most challenging thing I have ever done, but without a doubt has also been the most rewarding.

My Credentials

Medical school University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, Los Angeles, CA
Internship UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Residency UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

Professional Affiliation: I am a member of the American College of Physicians.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
