Welcome to my Home Page!

I was born and raised in Nogales, Arizona which is on the border of Mexico. I attended kindergarten in Mexico and lived in a bilingual culture throughout my childhood. Speaking both English and Spanish has been a huge asset in my career. I received my Bachelor of Science degree and my Occupational Therapy training at University of Washington in Seattle. I have been a practicing pediatric occupational therapist for 25 years. The first nine years of my career were spent at Children’s Hospital at Stanford and later Packard Children’s Hospital. I worked in several different hospitals covering both inpatient and outpatient pediatrics and then transitioned to home based Early Intervention services through Santa Clara County Dept of Education. I returned to school at Santa Clara University and received my Masters in Early Childhood Special Education with a focus on autism in 2009. Prior to beginning at Kaiser, my primary focus in the last 15 years had been working with children diagnosed with autism. My professional passions include autism, high risk and premature infants, feeding problems and cultural competence. I have been impressed with Kaiser Permanente’s focus on preventative care and support of the whole person and the whole family. I am very proud to be a member of the Kaiser team!

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
