My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a behavior medicine psychologist. I am a member of the primary care team of health professionals. My services are part of a unique and innovative approach to providing complete health care to Kaiser Permanente members. I am here to help ensure quality medical care and comprehensive preventative health services.

My Qualifications

Ph.D. Professional School of Psychology
M.S. University of San Francisco

My Practice Philosophy

Behavior Medicine is the integration of behavioral and medical science in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of medical conditions. Daily behavior affects your health more than anything else does. Years of research and clinical practice have shown that behavioral changes can help people to function better physically and emotionally. My work is dedicated to the behavioral changes that can help you improve your health, prevent illness, and reduce the symptoms of medical conditions. These same strategies can increase self care skills, improve effectiveness of medical interventions, and increase your ability to cope with chronic conditions.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I've been part of Kaiser Permanente's Primary Care Team since 1997. I appreciate Kaiser Permanente’s broad approach to patient care and preventative health focus.

I have enjoyed the interaction with primary care physicians, nurses, and support staff. I have found most members of the team to be hard working, dedicated, and truly interested in patient care.

I enjoyed a long association with UC Davis Medical School and hope to return to teaching there in the future.

On a Personal Note. . .

My interests include mind-body awareness, physical fitness, women's health, and chronic condition management. I practice what I preach, and combine good self care with an active and balanced work, family, and recreational life. Ask me how I do it. . .together we can develop a plan that works for you!

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
