My Biography

I first was introduced to Kaiser Permanente San Francisco when I worked here as an on-call Social Worker. I loved the team here and seized the chance come on board full time when the opportunity arose.

In my practice, I appreciate the diversity of the patients I see and my work with the team of neonatologists and nurses. I am particularly interested in a variety of counseling topics: women's health, the impact of childbirth on past trauma, inter-racial relationships, and asthma education in schools. I enjoy working with immigrant women; I hope to write a paper on how immigrant women cope with Western hospitalization.

One of the great things about Kaiser Permanente is that patients choose their own personal physician; it is easy for members to change providers if they wish. The people who work here care about patients and care about healing patients. I like being a part of that.

I lecture at UC Berkeley School of Social Work, and San Francisco State University School of Social Work. I am a diversity trainer in the medical center and the community.

I am the Captain of KP’s Dragon Boat team. I see that team as a reflection of our organization we have a very diverse team of paddlers. I am a gourmet chef and baker and use my skills to keep my team well-fed. Additionally, I am an avid marathon runner; my husband and I travel frequently to run marathons. I’ve been the Captain of KP San Francisco’s Half Marathon team for three years.
