My Background

I believe that listening to the patient is the foundation of good medical care. I will combine a thorough patient interview and evidence based medicine to formulate a sound care plan for you and your family. I chose to practice medicine at Kaiser Permanente because it provides me with adequate time and resources needed to give patients the exceptional care they deserve.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a hospitalist, I am responsible for admitting patients to the hospital and caring for them throughout their hospital stay. I also assist the surgeons with their patients if a nonsurgical issue arises. Also, in the event that a patient needs medical attention during off hours, when their primary doctor is not in house, I may be the one available to see the patient. I am one member of a large physician team who work together to provide 24/7 in house hospital coverage.

Family and Friends

I have 4 children, 3 girls and 1 boy, ages 8, 6, 5 and 11 months.

Hobbies and Interests

Running- I have completed 3 marathons and several half marathons. I prefer however to just run for fun on my own time. Reading- I prefer the New England Journal of Medicine and also allow myself one fiction (for fun) novel.

Recent Adventures

My family recently relocated from Indianapolis to California in June, 2010. This is an adventure that I do not want to relive any time soon (especially not with 4 kids!).

What I’m Reading and browsing

Currently I am reading The Lovely Bones. I also enjoy the New England Journal, Time magazine and NewsWeek.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
