About Me

I chose Physical Therapy as a career because I enjoy working with people. I knew I wanted to study medicine but did not want to deal with life and death issues. Physical Therapy is a profession that allows me to work with relatively healthy individuals with a physical problem. I enjoy teaching, and this is the most important aspect of what a Physical Therapist does. It is rewarding to see people overcome disability and pain and go on to lead functional, productive lives.

Working for Kaiser Permanente has allowed me to evolve as a clinician. There are abundant opportunities for continued education and for a varied case load. I am treated and respected as a clinician, and feel I am an integral part of the management of my patients with musculoskeletal disorders. I have resources available to help the patients and can practice autonomously.

My clinical interests are in Hand Therapy, Clinical Education, and General Orthopedics. I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and am a Certified Hand Therapist. Over the past ten years I have focused on Hand Therapy. I enjoy dealing with acute traumatic injuries and enjoy helping to problem solve more chronic disability. As a Hand Therapist I can be very creative with splinting.

When I am not at work I enjoy gardening, hiking & skiing. I love to cook and spend time with my family.

My Education and Credentials

Physical Therapy Education MA from Stanford University, Stanford, CA
Licensure Physical Therapy Board of California
Certification Hand Therapist, Hand Therapy Certification Commission, INC

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
