I am a Board Certified Genetic Counselor. Genetic counselors are health professionals with specialized graduate degrees and experience in the areas of medical genetics and counseling. Genetic counselors identify families at risk for birth defects or genetic disease, investigate the problem present in the family, interpret information about the disorder, and analyze inheritance patterns and risks of recurrence and review available options with the family. Genetic counselors also provide supportive counseling to families, serve as patient advocates and refer individuals and families to community or state support services.

My Biography

I joined the Kaiser San Jose Genetics Department in 1980, and am currently the Genetics Clinical Services Manager. I enjoy my clinical practice, as well as working administratively to help the department grow and develop.

I have been active in our national professional organization, the California State Genetics Disease Branch, as well as many programs within regional Kaiser genetics. I enjoy teaching genetics to any and all ages! Genetics is a field that is constantly growing and changing, and I enjoy the challenges of working in this field.

I look forward to providing you and your family with high-quality care and encourage your questions and comments.
