My Biography

The Chronic Pain Management Department is unique in its multidisciplinary approach. We prioritize patient care, and have a variety of modalities to assist you. Kaiser Permanente’s health care model allows for ease of interaction among various specialties at the medical center. With the advent of our new electronic charting tool, Health Connect, communication and collaboration has become even easier. Health Connect permits providers to have full access to patients’ complete medical histories, and we can route messages to one another. The system is superior to paper charts in every way, and it’s a clear benefit for our patients.

I am a clinical psychologist by training, and I have a specialty in health psychology. My role in the Chronic Pain Management Department is multifaceted. I facilitate a variety of groups, including our Reconditioning Programs, and I interact with patients on an individual basis as well. I am particularly interested in biofeedback, an amazing approach that can teach patients to exercise greater control over their stress and learn proper relaxation techniques.

For fun, I enjoy participating in outdoor activities and reading, especially nonfiction. I also like hiking, walking, and bicycling. I try to practice what I preach about relaxation and stress management. I look forward to welcoming you to Kaiser Permanente’s French Campus.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
