I became a nurse practitioner because I wanted to help educate women about how their bodies work and how to take care of their bodies. I have been an OB/GYN nurse practitioner since 1978 and have been certified as a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner since 1980. I have worked for Kaiser Permanente 11 years either in the Central Valley of California or the Sacramento Valley.

Several years ago I started seeing information about Breast Cancer Navigators. During my research I discovered I was quite interested in assisting people through the maize from abnormal breast imaging through their final diagnosis of benign or cancer.

I feel very humbled to have been chosen as the Santa Clara Kaiser Pemanente Women’s Imaging Center Breast Care Coordinator June 2010. My role is to be your contact person within Women’s Imaging Center. I can assist you in getting appointments, answer your questions regarding why the radiologist wants you to return for more images, schedule you for your image-guided breast biopsy, give you the results of the breast biopsy and offer support while waiting for the biopsy results.

Please check out the links on the left hand side of this HomePage. The information there may answer many of your questions or you can contact me. If there is anything I can do to make your experience in the Women’s Imaging Center better I hope you will contact me.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
