My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am an optometrist. This means I do eye examinations for glasses and contacts as well as diagnose, treat and refer eye health conditions. I decided to do this because I really enjoyed studying optics in college.

My Practice Philosophy

The gift of sight is precious to all of us and maintaining good eye health is so crucial to our every day lives. It is very important to educate patients on the value of this.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been a part of Kaiser Permanente since 2002 and I really value Kaiser Permanente’s dedication to providing preventative care to its members. I like the integrative style of medicine that it embraces. It is so wonderful having access to all of a patient’s health information. It allows for managing a member as a whole person. It is also great to be in an environment that provides total quality eye care including access to optometrists, ophthalmologists and opticians all in the same setting.

Professional Interests & Affiliations

  • Board of Directors, Sacramento Valley Optometric Society
  • Past President, Sacramento Valley Optometric Society
  • Member, California Optometric Association
  • Member, American Optometric Association

On a Personal Note. . .

I am a native of Sacramento and enjoy living by the river and engaging in outdoor activities. I like watching and participating in many kinds of sports and traveling when I get a chance.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
