About Me

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a Master of Science in Zoology from Michigan State University. I also attended the University of California at Davis for my teaching credential, and obtained a Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from the University of California at Berkeley.

I have been a practicing genetic counselor since 1989, and was certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics in 1990. Previously I worked at UC Davis Medical Center, and joined Kaiser in 1992. The combination of working with people and science in genetic counseling is a delight for me.

My outside interests include travel, birdwatching, many types of outdoor sports, and enjoyment of the arts, especially music and dance.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
