If you are reading this, it may be because you had to visit us in the Emergency Department. If so, I hope you are feeling better and hope our team lived up to your expectations. We keep our expectations very high hoping to evaluate, treat, and educate you or your family member to the best of our ability--the same way we would want our family cared for.

I have spent most of my life in Louisiana and then headed west to California and attended undergrad at UC Berkeley (Go Bears!). It was there that I met my wife and committed to a career in medicine. I headed back south to New Orleans where I graduated from Tulane medical school and picked up an MD and MBA. While there, my wife and I experienced hurricane Katrina which taught us many valuable lessons on life. Our apartment flooded and we quickly learned that the loss of our material items, while initially difficult, would mean little to our future as we gained tremendous love and respect for our family and friends who helped us get back on our feet. We then headed back west where I completed my residency training in Emergency Medicine at UC Davis.

I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2010 and consider practicing here in South Sacramento a privilege. Being in the Emergency Department can be stressful and it's my goal to treat each and every patient I care for with respect, courtesy, and efficiency and so I hope that if you have any concerns or questions, you won't hesistate to contact our department with feedback.

I was recently awarded board certification in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

My Credentials

Medical school Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, LA
Residency UC Davis, Sacramento, CA
Board certification Emergency Medicine, American Board of Emergency Medicine

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
