Welcome to my web page!

I graduated medical school from University of Nottingham, Nottingham, England. During my training, I studied many different fields of surgery. I became more interested in orthopaedic surgery when I saw orthopaedic surgeons caring for patients and families of all ages and walks of life.

After some surgical and orthopaedic training in Nottingham, England, I chose to spend some time teaching and traveling. I taught medical students at Stanford medical school and then University of California San Francisco medical school. After completing my Orthopaedic residency at University of California San Francisco, I considered many options before choosing The Permanente Medical Group.

Here at Kaiser Permanente, I can combine my clinical practice of Orthopaedic surgery with the academic and educational aspects of orthopaedics. I enjoy working with and teaching orthopaedic residents, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. It makes it a little easier for me to stay up to date with the latest orthopaedic developments which I am able to incorporate into my practice. The immense variety of my practice comes in handy while managing some of the more challenging orthopaedic cases that I take care of.

As an Orthopaedic surgeon in a diverse team at Kaiser Permanente, I now see and treat musculoskeletal conditions from problems noted at birth all the way to reconstructive cases later in life. Many of my patients are from different generations in the same family!

I have office hours and perform surgery at both Kaiser Richmond and Kaiser Oakland. This allows the patients to be cared for at whichever location is more convenient.

Please visit my home page often, as I update it from time to time with new information and enhancements.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
