Welcome to my home page. My name is Dr. Kai-Ting Hu, and I am a nephrologist (kidney specialist)who has been with Kaiser Permanente since 2000. At Kaiser, I have the privilege of working alongside a team of medical professionals, including your primary medical doctor, other specialists, and health educators to provide you with the most advanced and up-to-date health care.
I believe very strongly in patient education and encourage each patient to be as knowledgeable about their disease(s) as possible. Therefore, I spend quite a bit of time in the office discussing disease processes, medications, and other treatment options. I also believe in the importance of ongoing interaction between patient and physician – after all, you know your body best. It is my hope that you and I will develop a trusting long-lasting relationship with the goal of keeping you as healthy as possible, while preserving your quality of life.
Please use the links on this home page to obtain information about kidney diseases, dialysis, diet, high blood pressure and other common medical conditions. You can also learn a few things about my background as well as my credentials. Finally, you can make/change doctor appointments, and order medication refills.
Enjoy navigating through my home page. I look forward to seeing you in my office soon.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
