My Practice Philosophy

My goal is to develop relationships with patients and their families that focus on education and understanding of their medical conditions. As a geriatrician, I believe in individualizing treatment and management plans to better meet my patient’s goals of care.

About Me

I was born in Alameda, California and raised in Manila, Philippines. My undergraduate education in Public Health was from the University of the Philippines. My medical education was completed at the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery; I graduated in 2000. My residency training was done at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey. I completed my fellowship at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York. I am certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2009.

My Interests

Professionally, my interests include preventive medicine, dementia, hospice and palliative care. During my leisure, I enjoy music, singing, swimming and photography. I am fluent in both English and Tagalog.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
