Welcome to My Home Page

My colleagues and I designed home pages to make it easier for you to take care of your health care needs. We've included a variety of superior online programs and health information that we have evaluated or written ourselves. Providing you with only the highest quality materials demonstrates our commitment to giving you the best quality care.

My Background

I went to undergraduate school at University of California, Davis with a major in biochemistry. I went to medical school at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. After medical school, I came back to California and did my residency training in internal medicine at University of California Davis Medical Center.

I chose internal medicine as my specialty as I found the field most fascinating. I believe the internist's role is listening to the patients, processing the information and coming up with the correct diagnosis and treatment plan. I was introduced to Kaiser Permanente during residency rotation and joined in 1999 after completing residency. I have been working as a hospitalist at Kaiser Permanente ever since.

Being a hospitalist, I am involved in complex acute care of hospitalized patients. I coordinate care and work together with other specialists and hospital staff. I often get to see results from the care that is provided and I receive a lot of satisfaction in seeing those results. Working at Kaiser Permanente allows me to provide quality care to my patients using its integrated health care and vast resources.

Roles & Responsibilities

In addition to my primary role as a physician, I serve as a member of the Acute Care Quality Assurance Committee. On this committee, we review the care provided by acute care physicians and try to find ways to improve quality. I also serve as a Unit Director of stations 1 North and 1 South. As a Unit Director I am the liaison between nursing staff and physicians.

My Colleagues

Our department includes excellent colleagues. We often work as a team, supporting each other as we take care of hospitalized patients. I appreciate being part of a team of health professionals that are committed to quality and excellence in healthcare.

Family & Friends

I have a wonderful family that includes my wife and three daughters. I am fluent in Korean and my hobbies include gardening, reading best-sellers, and golfing. I am also a fan of the Sacramento Kings.
