Welcome to my Practice

Hello and welcome to my home page, which I hope contributes to a positive health care experience with Kaiser Permanente.

Background

I am a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, who has worked in the field of Mental Health for 42 years. Before coming to Kaiser Permanente, San Jose, I had a private practice in psychotherapy with individuals, groups and couples. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Oklahoma, and my graduate degree is from the University of Florida. I am also a certified bioenergetics analyst, and have had advanced study in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I work in body-mind-spirit concepts.

Roles and Responsibilities

In Chemical Dependency Services, I work in both the adult and adolescent recovery programs, as a therapist who leads groups, conducts assessment interviews, and sees members in individual, family and couples sessions.

My Colleagues

I am very fortunate to be a member of an excellent health care team, which values morale and practices high clinical standards.

Hobbies and Interests

Walking is my mainstay. I also enjoy yoga and gardening. I love nature and art, and poetry. I am learning to paint and have been a multi-media artist for many years, focusing on jewelry, assemblages, and ritual.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
