Welcome To My Homepage
Joined Kaiser Permanente Medical Group: 2001
I am the Regional Chief of Radiation Oncology.
I am a 3rd generation physician who grew up in Wisconsin where my father was in private practice as an Ob Gyn. I earned my BA in Anthropology at Harvard College, and my MD at Harvard Medical School in Boston. I completed my Residency training in Radiation Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) where I also served as Chief Resident.
I chose Radiation Oncology as my specialty because the synthesis of direct patient care, cancer biology, physics, and multidisciplinary care appealed to me. I have additional subspecialty interests and training in Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), hypofractionated radiation therapy, High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy, and the use of nutritional supplements during radiation treatment. My practice philosophy is to synthesize the best and most proven options from peer reviewed data with the individual circumstances of each patient.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking along the California Coast, wine tasting, and spending time at the beach with my two children.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
