Practice Philosophy

I wanted to become a cancer doctor to cure when possible, improve pain if a cure is not possible, and to be a supportive and kind physician even when I have no therapy to offer.

About Me

I was born and raised in the North Bay. I attended UC Berkeley for college, then UCLA for medical school and a master’s degree in public health. I completed internship at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center and residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. I was thrilled to have the chance to return home and join Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara in 2011.

My Interests

My professional interest is brachytherapy (insertion of radioactive sources within the tissues or cavities of the body to give a high dose of radiation to a focal area).

On a personal note, I enjoy traveling with my wife. Recent trips include Ireland, Portugal, and India.

My family and friends are the most important factor in shaping my philosophy. They provide support, guidance, and a lot of joy!

My Credentials

Medical school David Geffen School of Medicine - UCLA, Los Angeles, CA
Internship UC Los Angeles San Fernando Valley Program, Sylmar, CA
Residency Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Los Angeles, CA

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
