My Biography

I wanted to work at San Francisco Medical Center because of the challenges afforded within a hospital-based practice. I enjoy working in Kaiser Permanente’s holistic and multidisciplinary environment, working as part of an integrated team to better provide the best possible treatment expertise for our patients. Here, I have the ability to concentrate on caring for people instead of investing time in negotiating roadblocks, as often occurs in other health plans. With the Kaiser Permanente model, I focus on my patients’ care, with ready access to their full history and their current medical plan. The advantage of working this way is that I see the patient as a whole person and can provide more efficient, effective care. For example, if warranted, I may order tests or consult with specialists without needing a referral from the patient’s primary care physician.

In my time outside of work, I like winter sports, reading, and dining out. My philosophy on how to thrive is simple: work hard, and play hard. Aim for a work/life balance.

Many people have Laser Vision Correction done so that they are no longer dependent on glasses or contact lenses for distance vision. Individuals over 40 will still need glasses for reading after Laser Vision Correction to correct both eyes for distance.
