Welcome to My Home Page

As your doctor, I understand how valuable your time is and I appreciate the time you take to be as healthy as you can be. My colleagues and I have designed our home pages to make it easier for you to take care of your health care needs. We’ve included a variety of superior online programs and health information that we have evaluated or written ourselves. These materials are part of our commitment to giving you the best quality care.

My Background

I graduated from University of California at Davis in Biochemistry and went on to work in the pharmaceutical industry prior to medical school. I’ve also worked as a firefighter and EMT. I received my Masters degree in Physiology and went on to medical school. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1997.

Roles & Responsibilities

Our department staffs the Sacramento and Roseville Emergency Departments as well as support to our regional call center. I serve as Chief of our Sacramento Emergency Department.

Professional Affiliations

I am an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at University of California at Davis School of Medicine. I enjoy having an active role in teaching residents, nurses, paramedics, and our medical staff. I am a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine, a Fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, and a member of Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society.

My Colleagues

I appreciate that all my colleagues are among the best emergency physicians practicing today. It should be known that we require all our emergency physicians to be fully trained in Emergency Medicine and they must board eligible or board certified in Emergency Medicine.

Family and Friends

I am married with four children and several pets.

Hobbies and Interests

I enjoy the outdoors.

What I’m Reading and Browsing

Currently I’m reading a good book by Atul Gawande called “The Checklist Manifesto”. It describes the ways of making medicine safer for patients.

My Practice Philosophy

Treat my patients as I would want to be treated.

My Healthcare Tips

Don’t Smoke!!

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
