My Biography

I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente because of the opportunity to practice Occupational Medicine within an integrated health care system. The Kaiser model of care fosters access to a breadth of services that our members need. With regard to Occupational Medicine, other institutions may not start treatment for uninsured individuals, but we can. I find that there is usually somewhere a patient can go within Kaiser to at least initiate their treatment regimen.

Within my field, I am especially interested in keeping up with the changing science of preventing and treating injuries. The most gratifying part of my job is being able to apply the science of medicine, while engaging with the human and emotional aspect of being injured.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, playing around with computers and gadgets, traveling, and spending time with my wonderful husband. I THRIVE through exercising, walking my 11-year-old dog, eating healthy, and constantly working to improve my diet.

Undergraduate Education: BS in Biochemistry, Clemson University
Began Practice: 1991
Joined Kaiser Permanente: 2008

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
