My Biography

I am a San Francisco native! I was born to Janet and Jong who came from Korea and met here in San Francisco during the 60's. I grew up in different neighborhoods, but most of my childhood memories were in the Sunset District.

At a very early age, I helped my parents at a family owned American restaurant in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco. I grew up serving people, all while washing dishes, bussing tables, and mopping the floors. My parents had very little academic exposure, but they did teach me that hard work is extremely important.

Most of my education was in the Bay Area. I went to Golden Gate Elementary, Francis Scott Key, Herbert Hoover Middle School, and Lowell High School. I've attended UC Berkeley for my undergraduate studies but went very far away to St. George's School of Medicine in Grenada; only to come back to the Bay Area to train at Highland Hospital in Oakland in internal medicine. This has all led me back here!

My interests are broad. I've studied viola and piano, but I mostly enjoy playing the latter. I've played for the UC Berkeley Symphony for two years during my undergrad studies, composed and played music for plays, and now I just play for some local churches. I also like playing sports, but I mostly go running after work. I enjoy dining out, cooking (going back to my restaurant roots), traveling, watching movies, and listening to live music with my fiancé Angela.

I am happily engaged to Angela and will be married in 2006. My 13 year old Cocker Spaniel is going to be the ring-bearer!
