Welcome to my Kaiser homepage!
It has been more than a decade since I decided that psychology was the right career choice for me. In the time since I have had the opportunity to work with a huge range of people from very diverse backgrounds. The clinical populations I have worked with include college students, combat veterans, methadone maintenance patients, the chronically mentally ill, and the severely physically disabled.
I am also able to bring a unique perspective to my psychotherapeutic work because of my own background. I immigrated to America from Ireland at age 22. My experience growing up in one culture and now living in another one has given me tremendous insight into the strengths that we all possess that help us adjust to change in our lives.
In terms of theoretical orientation, I am very influenced by psychodynamic, relational, and existential models of psychotherapy. I also recognize that there are many paths to recovery from addiction, and I find great joy in helping my clients discover which path to sobriety is truly their own.
In conclusion, I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity work with a fabulous team of clinicians who all share a deep commitment to the field of substance abuse treatment. Our CDS program is the best!

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
