My name is John Berdoulay. Welcome to my website. Below, you will find some information about me and how I like to practice. This home page also has some links to areas that you might find helpful.

I received a Bachelors degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Stonybrook in 1988. I received a second Bachelors degree, in Physical Therapy, from Daemen College in Buffalo, New York in 1991. I worked in private practice for eleven years before joining Kaiser here in Redwood City in 2002.

My professional area of interest is spine care and neurological rehabilitation. I am an Orthopedic Certified Specialist of the American Physical Therapy Association. I also hold a Certification in Manual Therapy, granted by the University of St. Augustine, Florida.

I spent my first 14 years specializing in the care of neck and back pain. In 2006 I decided to explore a different aspect of Physical Therapy, so I spent 6 months training in the Rehabilitation department at Kaiser Vallejo. I now see, almost exclusively, people who have suffered strokes, spinal cord injuries, head injuries or other neurologic conditions.

I am a native of Long Island, New York. I moved to California in 1995 after meeting my wife on an Alaskan hiking trip. My wife, Christina, is also a Kaiser Permanente Physical Therapist. We have an 8 year old daughter and a 5 year old son. In my spare time I enjoy woodworking and spending time in Santa Cruz.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
