Hello and welcome to my home page!

I am currently a staff optometrist and a union steward at the Kaiser San Rafael Downtown facility. I started my career at Kaiser as a summer youth intern working in the department of Radiology at the Richmond facility. I have been working as an optometrist for Kaiser since 1991. I started my optometric career in the Vallejo facility and have been in San Rafael since 2001.

I am a member of the workplace safety team and the labor management partnership team here in San Rafael. Currently, I am a board member for the Optometry Board unit for the engineers and scientists of California, local 20 and the International Federation Professional and Technical Engineers (AFL-CIO). I represent the Santa Rosa, San Rafael, South San Francisco and San Francisco Kaiser facilities.

I grew up in Berkeley and attended the University of California, Berkeley where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Immunology. I went on to pursue my Doctorate of Optometry degree at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry. After I graduated, I participated in a program at UC Berkeley where I provided school screenings for elementary schools in the Bay Area. I have also been in private practice with my brother from 1993-1996 in South San Francisco.

I have always enjoyed helping and caring for others which is what attracted me to the profession of Optometry. Kaiser allows me to help my patients see better and also to help play a role in keeping them healthy. I work with a wonderful team of colleagues and together we provide our patients with quality care and excellent service.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband and sons. I enjoy long walks, playing tennis and traveling. Maui is one of my favorite destinations. I am also a diehard Cal fan – GO BEARS!

Thank you for visiting my homepage! I hope someday to have the opportunity to help care for your vision needs.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
