WELCOME TO PHYSICAL THERAPY

MY BIOGRAPHY

I was born in Minnesota and raised in San Jose, California. I have been a physical therapist at Kaiser Hayward/Union City since joining The Permanente Medical Group in 1981. In this time I have published articles in the areas of muscle activity during lifting, and degenerative disk disease. For the past ten years I have served as a guest lecturer in statistics and research design for the Physical Therapy Residency Program in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy at Kaiser, Hayward. Professionally, I maintain active membership in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, and my special interests are, in general, orthopedic physical therapy, and specifically the care and treatment of back and neck pain. I am an avid reader of history and I am a member of the Little Big Horn Battlefield Historical Museum Association. In my leisure time I am a sports enthusiast and I enjoy competitive ballroom dancing, hiking, woodworking, and gardening. I am also an active member of my church where I serve as a lector.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
