Welcome to my home page!

Thank you for visiting my page. This is an opportunity for me to tell you more about myself and my philosophy on how I work with patients. This page is also a great resource, so take some time to check out the links we’ve gathered in the navigation bar.

About me

After sustaining a knee injury playing high school basketball, I received physical therapy. I knew I wanted to pursue a science or health care based field, but after that experience I then had a specific path to follow. Physical therapy provides me an opportunity to make a difference in a patient’s function level. By educating them and providing them exercises and information, a patient can take an active role in their recovery and rehabilitation.

I appreciate working for Kaiser Permanente because this organization allows growth to occur in our field. They believe in the expertise that Physical Therapists possess to ascertain and effectively treat musculoskeletal dysfunctions.

My treatment philosophy is that knowledge is power. If a patient can understand why they are having trouble, they can more effectively address that problem. By understanding the delicate balance between strength, flexibility, posture, body mechanics, and making the right decisions for their bodies, patients can be empowered to regain control of their lives and their pain. Unfortunately that doesn’t always mean being “pain free” but decisions then are at least made with better awareness of how to progress healing or manage resulting flare-ups.

My primary area of interest is in orthopedics. I also work with ergonomics in the work force and believe the position you are in most of the day directly influences injury and subsequent recovery.

My family time is of great importance to me. Reading, exercising regularly, and maintaining my sense of humor helps me manage all of life’s normal stresses. I also volunteer my time to coaching youth sports and my faith community.

MAINTAIN YOUR BALANCE IN LIFE AND YOU WILL LIVE LONG AND THRIVE!

My education and credentials:

Undergraduate Degree BS in Kinosiology, California State University, Hayward
Physical Therapy Education MPT from Samuel Merritt College, Oakland, CA
Licensure Physical Therapy Board of California
Membership American Physical Therapy Association

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
