My Profession and Why I Chose It
As a nurse practitioner in Family Practice, I am able to provide healthcare for most issues patients present with, order lab tests and x-rays, refer patients to specialty departments and order medications. I have access to a wonderful team of physicians with whom to consult when needed. I provide full physicals, urgent care, contraception counseling and prescriptions, and assistance with acute and chronic problems. I love knowing my patients’ families, friends, and co-workers. Many of my patients are members of the same family, and many others work, live, or socialize together.
My Practice Philosophy
I value honesty, open communication, and working with my patients toward the highest level of emotional and physical health possible for them. My practice style emphasizes mind-body connection, preventative care, and helping patients learn the best way to maintain their health on a daily basis. I encourage my patients to utilize the many nonpharmacologic resources available at Kaiser, such as health education classes, rather than attempting or hoping to rely on single-source solutions, such as medications.
My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente
I have been part of the Kaiser Permanente team since 1986. I have had the opportunity to interact with multiple departments and many personnel during these years and am familiar with the many wonderful resources offered at Kaiser Permanente.
Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente
In addition to my work at Kaiser, I also assist with the University of California, Davis Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program as guest faculty. In that role, I have the opportunity to observe and assist students who are gaining experience while working in the community in other medical facilities. I always return from these visits with renewed appreciation for the wonderful resources offered Kaiser.
I work with a team of 14 other nurse practitioners and doctors on station 4 at Fair Oaks, all of whom interact in a supportive and team environment. If I am not in the office, you will have the opportunity to see one of my colleagues, who will let me know that you were in the clinic and how you are doing.

On a Personal Note…
My personal interests include gardening, hiking, reading, cooking, my pets, and most of all, my family. I feel that maintaining a balance in life is one of the most important ways to maintain health. I incorporate the healthful habits that I suggest to my patients into my own life.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you toward a health, happy life.
