My Biography

I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco because of Kaiser’s excellent reputation for providing outstanding comprehensive health care to its members. We have a rich diversity of members as well as employees. An important way for individuals to be healthy and stay healthy is through access to many different resources to help them meet their personal goals. It is exciting to be a part of the Genetics team at San Francisco Medical Center because of the active role that Kaiser plays in the community, promoting healthy living to members and non-members alike.

Kaiser excels at providing the highest quality of medical care to members through our integrated health care model. This model enables patients to receive the most appropriate care possible. Our comprehensive approach to integrated health care is very important overall, and is especially significant in the genetic counseling process, where I can ensure that families have access to necessary specialty services and resources.

As a genetic counselor, I enjoy helping individuals and families, explaining medical information in a way that is tailored to each individual and supporting individuals in making decisions that are best for them. Often, we meet with people who are dealing with very stressful and emotional situations, and I feel privileged that they share their personal stories with me. Every individual and family I meet presents different issues, and I always learn something new from each of my patients! I have a special interest in the field of cancer genetics, a rapidly-growing area.

Outside of work, I enjoy running, hiking, and just spending time outdoors. I am new to the San Francisco area, and look forward to exploring all of the amazing outdoor activities that the area has to offer! I also enjoy traveling and reading. I try to live a healthy lifestyle through staying active, eating healthy and tasty food, and getting a good dose of laughter in on a regular basis!
