My Biography
Kaiser Permanente interested me because the organization had a reputation for caring about its employees and their special concerns. The satisfaction and appreciation I feel assists me in my service to clients because I know that I am supported in my practice. I like Kaiser’s comprehensive services set-up, and I appreciate the opportunity to work collaboratively with my colleagues. I really enjoy my clinical work, as well as the fact that I have the flexibility to be a part of different pieces of the treatment process. I am able to make smooth, seamless referrals to other providers and departments, when necessary. I can honestly say that Kaiser San Francisco is really exactly as I’d heard it would be. Since we are situated in San Francisco, I see a whole spectrum of patients, the full array that exists in a major metropolis.
I especially enjoy one-to-one therapy. I like helping patients open doors for control and for change. My special interest is in the whole range of anxiety disorder, especially in how such disorders manifest within the Latino population. This population of patients is still fighting the stigma of mental illness. I see a need for further dissemination of education and information for this group of patients.
I have a variety of interests outside of work. I used to be a competitive ballroom dancer, and I still enjoy salsa dancing. I attend plays and concerts, go to the movies, listen to music, and play guitar. I am also learning the piano! I like learning about other cultures through travel, and I recently took a cruise to the Florida Keys and Cancun. To help myself thrive, I aim for a solid work/life balance, practice proper eating habits, and make time for leisurely activities such as hiking, kayaking, and volleyball.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
