Ever since I completed my physical therapy internship with Kaiser Permanente San Francisco in 2005, I knew I wanted to be a part of the KP family permanently. I received my opportunity in 2006, where I worked in the Occupational Health Departments at Kaiser Oakland and Kaiser San Francisco. In these outpatient clinics, I was able to help rehabilitate members who were injured on the job. Then in August 2009, I moved down to the South Bay, and joined the Inpatient Physical Therapy team at Kaiser Santa Clara. Now, I am happy to help our members get back onto their feet as they recover in the hospital. Even though I have worked at several Kaiser medical centers, there are core values that can found in every one of them. It is obvious the services provided through Kaiser Permanente truly focus on prevention, wellness, and total health. Furthermore, everyone in the staff works closely together towards delivering quality and individualized patient care. We all enjoy working with such a diverse group of patients, not only in the types of injuries, but also in the different beliefs and cultures that patients share with us. In the end, our greatest goal is to return patients back to normal daily activities – a gratifying and rewarding result for all of us. During my spare time, I love paddling with the KP Dragon Healers, one of Kaiser’s Dragonboat teams. I also enjoy taking salsa dancing lessons, playing games with my family, and baking. On a daily basis, I walk regularly, opt for the stairs instead of the elevator, and eat a well-balanced diet. Also important to my well-being is maintaining a connection with my Chinese heritage.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
