Hello, Welcome to my home page!
Cardiology has always been the passion of mine since I started my medical career. With constant changes in interventional cardiology, there is always an opportunity to be exposed to new technology that brings new challenges.
My Background...
I received my undergraduate degree in nursing from Loma Linda University. I am a registered nurse and a public health nurse since 1993. I then continued my education at San Jose State University where I earned my Master’s Degree in 2002. I have served as treasurer for the School of Nursing. In 2003 I was nationally certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center as a Nurse Practitioner.
Prior to my current position in the Cardiac Cath Lab, I worked for Kaiser Permanente in the Pre-Op Center at the Santa Clara Medical Center as a Nurse Practitioner. I have a variety of experience working in different medical settings such as the Medical/Oncology unit at the Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center as a staff RN, and Labor & Delivery, Postpartum and the orthopedic surgical unit at the Community Hospital of Los Gatos.
My personal interests...
In 1993 I served as a medical missionary to Zambia, Africa. I performed surgeries and taught in the nursing school. I also acted as a substitute principal until the Permanent Principal for the Nursing School arrived.
In addition to English, I speak fluent Korean. When not at the Medical Center I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 adorable boys. I also enjoy volleyball, traveling and spending time overseas as a medical missionary. I also love to volunteer to tell Children’s story at Sabbath School full of toddler kids in Seventh - day Adventist church.
My philosophy of care...
Providing the best informed competent care is the goal I strive every day. By listening and educating each patient to their individual needs, patients and I can work together to improve health condition.
My Recommendations...
Living healthy should be the priority for all ages of people. Exercising regularly with well balanced diet can help prevent chronic disease. Learning to relieve stress in a healthy way can empower not only our physical state but also emotional state of mind. I feel it is equally important for the patient to know their family medical background to be aware of their own health risks.
