Welcome to my home page.

Here is some information about myself: I was born in Sacramento and attended Elk Grove High School until I moved to Hawaii in my Junior year. I graduated from the University of Hawaii-Manoa (UHM) in 1981 with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. I completed my Master's Degree in Social Work at UHM in 1983. I returned to live in Sacramento in 1985 to be closer to family. I am licensed by the State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Behavioral Science Examiners in Clinical Social Work. License number 14374.

Career Highlights

I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1991 as a Hospice Social Worker. When the new Labor & Delivery Unit opened at South Sacramento in 1992, I was the first Perinatal Social Worker. In 1997, I became the first Early Start Specialist in the OB-Gyn Department at South Sacramento. The Early Start program focuses on identification and early intervention with pregnant women to reduce the harmful effects of drugs, tobacco and alcohol on unborn babies. I moved to the Adolescent Chemical Dependency Program in 2001 and became the manager of the Chemical Dependency Services Dept here at South Sacramento in 2008. We have a great team and I feel blessed everyday to work together with excellent clinical staff in serving Kaiser Permanete members who have been impacted, either directly or through loved ones, by substance problems. Before joining Kaiser Permanente, I had a variety of experiences in my field including working with teen runaways, perinatal social work, postpartum depression, child abuse and sexual assault victims, as well as disabled advocacy. I truly enjoy my chosen field of social work as it offers so many different areas in which one can work and make a difference.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
