About Me

I was born and raised in Long Island, New York. I graduated from Ohio University in 1997 with a BA degree in Psychology. I completed my Psy.D. degree in Clinical Psychology at Indiana State University in 2002. I also received an MS in Clinical Psychology training at Indiana State University in 1999. I am licensed by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs Board of Psychology, license number 19243.

My previous clinical experience includes an APA Accredited Internship with the Hamilton Center, Inc., from 2001 to 2002, and a Postdoctoral Fellowship with UC Davis MedicalCenter and Sacramento County Mental Health Treatment Center from 2002-2003.

I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 2003 where I have worked in the Adult Medicine Department as a Behavioral Medicine Specialist and the Department of Psychiatry as a therapist. I also served as the Manager of the Behavioral Medicine Program at the South Sacramento Kaiser facility from 2005 – 2009. Behavioral Medicine is an interdisciplinary field that combines behavioral, psychosocial, and biomedical science to help understand health and illness. We use this knowledge and to help prevent disease, as well as diagnosis, treat, and rehabilitate chronic illnesses.

I am currently working full time in the Adult Psychiatry Department at the Morse Avenue Kaiser facility. My clinical interests include health psychology, assertiveness, interpersonal relationships, optimism, and wellness. I enjoy working as part of an integrated health care team.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
