About Me

It is truly a privilege to be of service to the member patients at Kaiser. I began working for Kaiser Permanente in 2002 in Chemical Dependency Services and was immediately impressed with the quality of service and the dedication and professionalism of the staff here. As I set to work with my own clinical practice, I knew I had found my niche.

Chemical Dependency Services is a unique way to address the suffering and pain that people seek help for within our organization. Whether it be a substance abuse problem or a concern (all too often, a preoccupation!) with a loved one who is abusing substances, we are here to help you. I am always struck at the powerful effect that wanting change in our lives has. Reaching out for help is one of the several initial steps that individuals take in their pursuit of personal transformation. Being witness to and having the ability to assist those in that process is my passion. People will often come in quite anxious about the possibility of being judged, but they are usually most judgmental of themselves. They fear having to face more than they can tolerate. This is not what I see happen when you make the step to get help. We all encourage you to be kind to yourself, we support your strengths. In this way, we hope to give you a taste of sanity and serenity each one of us needs in order to live our busy and full lives. I look forward to the possibility that I will be a part of your healing quest.

"To know the road ahead, ask those coming back." -- Chinese Proverb

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
