About Me

I was born in San Francisco, California and raised in Sacramento. I’ve lived and worked in Berkeley and New York City before returning home. I graduated in 1977 with a BSW from the School of Social Work at UC Berkley. I attended Columbia University School of Social Work and graduated in 1980 with my MSW. I went on to obtain a Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from Washington Square Institute in New York City in 1990.

Upon returning to California in 1996, I completed training in Narrative Therapy in Sacramento. I am licensed by the State of California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I currently serve as one of the Child, Adolescent and Family therapists in the Department of Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente in Rancho Cordova and Folsom.

Providers in the Child, Adolescent and Family program are specialists in the mental health problems experienced by children and their families. We provide brief treatment to children, adolescents and families. We involve the family in learning new skills to deal with psychiatric issues. We see people individually, in families or in groups depending upon problems being treated and the developmental needs of the child.

I am also the Autism Spectrum Disorders Clinic Champion, acting as liaison between Psychiatry and the ASD Clinic and teach the ASD Parent Education Classes.

My pleasures are vacationing with my family and hobbies including photography, jewelry making, sewing, crocheting and baking cookies.

My next goal is to learn to play the harp for relaxation.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
