While you will find a variety of helpful information here, I encourage you to call, email, or arrange for an appointment with me if you have any questions about the health of your child. Pediatrics is a collaboration between parents, children, and doctors and I look forward to working with you to serve your child best. You are your child's best advocate so let me know how I can help.
My Qualifications
I joined the Roseville Pediatric Department in 2001. From birth, I was destined to work for Kaiser Permanente having been born at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Walnut Creek, California. I received my undergraduate degree in Biology from UCLA and my medical degree from the University of Vermont. I completed Pediatric training at Phoenix Children's Hospital/Maricopa Medical Center, and I am Board Certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. I have graduate degrees in Public Health (Maternal and Child Health) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. I am very pleased with the education I received from these fine institutions, but some of my most valuable education has come from raising my own children.
My Healthcare Practice
I am lucky to work with a wonderful group of doctors. When you call for an appointment, every effort will be made to have your child see me. However, if I am unavailable, one of my associates will be able to take care of your child's health care needs.
Dr. Fisch's Top Ten List of Parenting
1. All children are made different.
2. If there was only one right way to parent, there would only be one book in the parenting section of the library.
3. Avoid too many rules.
4. Be consistent. Enforce the rules.
5. Give children choices. (No one said they couldn't all be your choices!)
6. Catch your kids being good. Praise them more often.
7. Never tolerate bad behavior, it will only continue.
8. Adolescents need more direct supervision and parenting than toddlers.
9. Listen.
10. Hug your children often.
My Outside Interests
I live in Granite Bay with my wonderful wife Jennifer and our six children (Ages 7 months through 13 years old). My children and I have visions of starting a petting zoo as we currently have 2 cats, a dog, a rabbit, several chickens, and countless wild turkeys that call our yard home. We enjoy hiking, skiing, kite flying, and gardening as a family and when I am not mountain bike riding I dream of being a fly fisherman some day!
