My Qualifications

I received my medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine of the City University of New York in 1985. After completing my internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, I became part of Kaiser Permanente in 1988. At first I practiced at the Sacramento facility, but in 2000 I relocated to the Riverside campus in Roseville. I am a member of the American College of Physicians.

My Healthcare Practice

I chose the discipline of internal medicine because I found it to be the most intellectually satisfying. I chose to stay in general internal medicine rather than specialize, because I wanted to provide comprehensive care to my patients. That care includes prevention and screening to prevent disease, evaluation for problems simple to complex, helping patients manage chronic diseases such as diabetes and asthma, and simple procedures such as joint injections.

Besides English, I also can speak German.

Receiving Your Healthcare From Kaiser Permanente

The health care system is facing many challenges today. The increasing complexity and burgeoning costs are creating difficulties for both patients and providers. As an integrated system, Kaiser Permanente is in an excellent position to meet these challenges. Patients can get most of the services (lab, x-ray, and pharmacy) under one roof. Our computer systems keep track of a myriad of information and help us coordinate care. We have a staff of physicians, nurses, and many others who are first rate. While many other health plans, medical groups, and hospitals have merged or gone out of business, Kaiser remains an oasis of stability.

My Outside Interests

I am married and have three school age children. My family means a lot to me. Though my work schedule and family responsibilities don't allow for much spare time, I enjoy gardening and listening to opera.

Be sure to visit the New Kaiser Permanente Website for additional information regarding appointments, prescriptions, health education classes and other health-related topics. You can also click on my department link above to receive additional health information.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
