About me

I decided to be an optometrist because I have always been fascinated with the visual system. And besides that, I have worn glasses and contacts all my life and wanted to learn more about the eyes. My work is great -- I enjoy meeting people and at the same time providing them with a valuable service and helping them see.

I've had the privilege of working at Kaiser Permanente since 2001. Working here is excellent because I’m given the opportunity to concentrate on providing quality eye care for my patients. I hope to be able to treat all my patients the way I like to be treated, with compassion and respect. I am currently providing general optometric care for patients in the Optometry Department as well as providing services once a week at our urgent eye clinic in the Ophthalmology Department.

When I’m not working I like to spend time attending and sometimes coaching my children's soccer and baseball games. I also enjoy big game fishing, wood working, and home renovation.

My educational background is as follows:

Undergraduate Education: BS in Phisiology, University of California, Berkeley
Optometric Education: University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry
Externship: San Francisco VA Medical Center
Externship: Oak Knoll Naval Medical Center, Oakland

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
