Hello…my name is Jeannette Nakamura. I have been an occupational therapist since 1984 and have been with Kaiser Permanente in Redwood City since 1994.

I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physiology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California.

I chose a career in occupational therapy because I enjoy working with people and helping people achieve their maximum potential in their daily lives.

The areas of professional interest include neuromuscular disease, cognitively involved patients, and pediatrics. I enjoy enrolling in continuing education classes to learn current practice and treatment options for my patients. I am a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and the Occupational Association of California.

In my free time, I enjoy time with my husband and son as well as my extended family. I love to bake and have dinner parties with family and friends. I’m a fan of crime shows and enjoy reading.

Please use this web page to better understand who I am and how I like to practice. You will also find links to what Physical Therapy is, exercise regimens, and helpful health education information.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
