About Me
I was born on Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA, and was raised in a small town (called Lompoc, CA) just north of Santa Barbara. After finishing high school, I was off to the big city… Los Angeles. I graduated from U.C.L.A. four years later with a degree in Biology. During my undergraduate years, I worked as an Emergency Medical Technician on an ambulance, and it was this experience that led me to pursue a career in medicine. I was accepted to U.C.L.A. medical school, and, later, U.C.L.A. Orthopaedic Surgery residency. After completing my residency in general orthopaedics, I chose to specialize specifically in Sports Medicine. I therefore moved out of California for the first time and attended the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. During this fellowship I received intensive training in athletic injuries of the shoulder, knee, and elbow. I am currently a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the California Orthopaedic Association.

My Healthcare Practice
Like most children growing up in sunny California, I spent most of my childhood outdoors. It was my natural love of sports and outdoor activities that led me ultimately to pursue a career in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery. I enjoy taking care of motivated patients who are injured and wish to return to their previous high level of activities. Although I am relatively new to Kaiser Permanente, the patients I have cared for in my practice have been enthusiastic and proactive, working with me to help them regain their excellent quality of life.
Outside Interests
Outside of the hospital, my wife and I still enjoy outdoor activities. I continue to play soccer, bicycle, ski, hike, and scuba dive whenever I have free time. And, as you may expect, I love cheering for the U.C.L.A Bruins athletic teams!
I just wanted to say a heart-felt “Thank you” for choosing Kaiser Permanente and me for your orthopaedic care! I look forward to helping you to get back to your active lifestyle!
